Head and Shoulders Portrait

Most often I travel to your location and complete my head and shoulders portraits in one day. I arrive at your house between 8:30 and 9 in the morning. After I set up my gear, I shoot lots of photos with my digital camera trying to capture a natural expression. Usually a slight smile works best. I review the expressions on my laptop with you and we choose one photo that best captures your child. After we settle on an expression, your child is free to change into their play clothes. I put the chosen photo on a monitor set up next to my easel and begin blocking in the portrait. After about an hour or so I'll ask your child to come back and pose again for 5 to 10 minutes while I check the likeness and adjust the colors. Your child will pose every couple of hours throughout the day for short periods while I adjust the portrait. I'll work all day. Usually, I finish the portrait around 5 or 6 pm and finish framing and packing my gear shortly afterwards. The pastel H&S portrait price includes a frame with glass.

 

3/4 Length Portrait

I also complete 3/4 length pastel portraits at your house. The process for a 3/4 length portrait is the same as above but I spend two days working on the portrait.
